Aaron Marquez - Executive Director
Aaron deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 and 2016, leading Civil Affairs and Intelligence operations. He continues to serve as a major in the United States Army Reserve and as an elected Governing Board Member for the Phoenix Union High School District. Previously, he led the veterans' outreach efforts for the office of U.S. Congressman Ruben Gallego. Aaron has worked on Democratic campaigns in Arizona since 2004 – starting his political career as a field organizer for John Kerry. He graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.

Signa Oliver - Board Member
Signa joined the Arizona National Guard, serving in Field Artillery. After college and finishing law school, she volunteered to serve again as a commissioned officer in the United States Army JAG Corps. While stationed at Fort Benning, GA, Signa served as Special Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia. In 2022, she ran and won a seat on the Governing Board for the Phoenix Union High School District.

JoAnna Mendoza - Board Member
JoAnna retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2016 as a Gunnery Sergeant. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Arizona Center for Economic Progress. She previously worked for U.S. Congressman Tom O'Halleran as his Campaign Manager, Deputy District Director, and Veteran Service Representative. In 2020, JoAnna ran for the state legislature from her hometown in Pinal County. Her work with Congressman O'Halleran and her experience as a candidate in rural Arizona gives her a deep understanding and connection to rural communities across the state.

Tim Stringham - Board Member
Tim, an Arizona State University and Notre Dame Law School graduate, served in the United States Army Reserve and then the United States Navy JAG Corps. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 as a Civil Affairs officer. In the Navy, he trained more than forty partner nations in international humanitarian law.

Brett Hunt - Board Member
Brett served as a Signal Corps officer in the United States Army. His military service includes deployments to Iraq and Kuwait. After leading the nation’s first Public Service Academy at Arizona State University – Brett joined the Volcker Alliance overseeing its Next Generation Service Corps initiative and expanding the public service academy model to universities nationwide. He serves on U.S. Senator Mark Kelly’s Veterans Advisory Committee and the Arizona Advisory Board for the US Global Leadership Coalition.
