VetsForward Announces Launch of Operation Desert Rose in Response to Arizona Supreme Court Ruling to Uphold Archaic 1864 Abortion Ban Law

Phoenix, Arizona. — VetsForward vehemently expresses its outrage over the recent Arizona Supreme Court decision to uphold an 1864 law, effectively banning abortions in Arizona. This ruling not only undermines the rights and autonomy of Arizonans but also sets a dangerous precedent that threatens the progress we've strived for in women's rights. This ruling does not reflect the core values and liberties that our brave veterans have fought and sacrificed to protect.

Our veterans have laid down their lives on battlefields worldwide, not just in defense of our country but in the steadfast belief that every American deserves the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. These are not merely abstract concepts but foundational principles that define our nation and the freedoms we hold dear.

The recent Supreme Court decision undermines these very principles, denying individuals the autonomy over their bodies and their health care decisions. It directly affronts the liberties our veterans have valiantly fought to secure and preserve.

At VetsForward, we stand in solidarity with those impacted by this ruling and reaffirm our commitment to championing the rights and freedoms for which our veterans have made unparalleled sacrifices. We will not waver in our mission to advocate for justice, equality, and the right of every individual to make personal decisions without undue governmental interference.

In response to this alarming development, VetsForward is launching Operation Desert Rose, a mission driven by the courage, solidarity, duty, and integrity that define our coalition of united veterans. This effort is our stand against any action that erodes the liberties and rights of individuals in Arizona. We will focus on protecting access to abortion and contraception and defending against any infringement on our freedoms.

"We cannot stand idly by as the rights we've fought for are being stripped away from us. Operation Desert Rose is our commitment to action, leveraging the strength and dedication of our veterans to protect and advance the cause of freedom and equality in Arizona.JoAnna Mendoza, US Marine Corps Veteran, VetsForward Board Member and Co-Founder of the project.

The AZ Supreme Court has abdicated any reasonable amount of respect as serious jurists by reaching this archaic decision that seems to be based only on political partisanship rather than serious legal/judicial insight.Signa Oliver, VetsForward Board Member, US Army Veteran and  Judge Advocate.

The call to service never ends for those who have stood on the front lines to defend our country. In this critical moment, VetsForward reaffirms its commitment to defend the principles we've served to protect. Join Operation Desert Rose. Together, we are a force for change, driven by the same values that guided us in uniform. Together, we will ensure that the battle for women's rights is a battle we win!
